zakat bariefing for Ramadan 2025. Bank on going policy

The government has set the Nisab-e-Zakat for the Islamic year 1445-46 A.H. at Rs. 179,689, marking an increase of Rs. 44,519 from last year. Zakat at 2.5% will be deducted from accounts meeting this threshold on March 2, 2025, the first day of Ramazan.

Accounts below this limit will be exempt under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance, 1980. Banks and financial institutions have been directed to implement the deduction accordingly.
