Torkham border dispute ceasefire: reopening for trade between pakistan and Afghanistan

Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached a breakthrough in resolving the Torkham border dispute, agreeing on a permanent ceasefire and reopening the border for all movement.

However, the Afghan delegation requested time until the evening to halt controversial construction on their side.

A joint jirga made significant progress, with both sides agreeing to temporarily stop the disputed construction while the Afghan delegation consults its authorities.

The Joint Chamber of Commerce will address the issue in its next meeting.

A high-level meeting between FC officials and Afghan border commanders is scheduled for this evening to finalize trade corridor reopening.
