The federal government has approved a three-day public holiday for Eid al-Fitr, scheduled from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
A notification from the Cabinet Division confirmed the decision, aligning it with the expected end of Ramadan.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on the evening of Sunday, March 30 (Ramazan 29, 1446 AH) to sight the Shawwal moon and officially confirm the Eid date.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Eid al-Fitr will likely fall on March 31, as the Shawwal moon is expected to be born on March 29 at 3:58 PM.
