Tehreek I Taliban Pakistan a umbrella of major terrorism threat.

Pakistan’s UN envoy, Munir Akram, warned that Afghanistan’s interim government supports the Tehreek-i-T*liban Pakistan (TTP), calling it a major threat to regional and global security. Speaking at a UN Security Council briefing, Akram claimed that over 20 t*rrorist groups operate in Afghanistan, including Al-Qaeda, the BLA, and the Majeed Brigade.

He asserted that the TTP, with 6,000 fighters, conducts cross-border attacks against Pakistan with Kabul’s complicity. Akram alleged external financing for the TTP and its collaboration with other militant groups to destabilize Pakistan and disrupt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

He vowed that Pakistan would take all necessary actions to eliminate these threats under international law. Additionally, he urged the unfreezing of Afghanistan’s assets to stabilize its economy while pressing Kabul to combat cross-border t*rrorism and illegal trade.

Pakistani forces, he noted, have seized advanced weapons left behind by foreign troops in Afghanistan.
