This is Ibtihal Abu Al-Saad, a young Moroccan woman, a Harvard graduate, who works as a programmer at Microsoft.
On the company’s fiftieth anniversary, she took the stage during the official celebration and directly accused Mustafa Suliman, the company’s executive director of artificial intelligence (AI), who is of Arab origin, of complicity in the bloodshed.
She also accused Microsoft’s entire management of complicity in supporting the crimes of the Israeli occupation by supplying its army with technologies, servers, and Azure services, which have been used to carry out genoc**e against Palestinians for more than a year and a half.Following this bold step, Ibtihal sent an email to all Microsoft employees, explaining the reasons that led her to this position.
She emphasized that she could no longer tolerate silence after discovering that her work in the AI team was being used, in one way or another, to support the genoc**e being committed against the Palestinian people.
This sense of principle is rare and inspiring. One may argue that she’s done more for Palestine in the moment than the entire nation of Morocco.May this courage inspire others to rise to the occasion and speak truth to power.
