Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the rising wave of terrorism in the country. Speaking on Sunday, he highlighted the global recognition of the issue, stating that even the UN Security Council condemned recent attacks.
Iqbal accused enemies of targeting Balochistan, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the mineral sector to hinder Pakistan’s economic progress. Referring to the tragic Jaffar Express attack, he called it one of the worst incidents of terrorism.
He also emphasized that Pakistan’s valiant soldiers stand as a shield against these threats.
Iqbal further asserted that previous government policies contributed to the surge in terrorism, while under his party’s tenure, significant progress was made in eliminating the menace. He reiterated that economic growth in Balochistan, backed by a $5 billion investment, remains a key target for adversaries seeking to destabilize Pakistan.
