IS PAKISTAN FACING US TRAVEL BAN OR NOT ?

As uncertainty grows over potential US visa restrictions, Pakistanis are increasingly concerned about their travel, education, and business prospects.

Reports suggest Washington may tighten scrutiny on visa applications from Pakistan, though no official decision has been announced.

Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik clarified that while the US has concerns over security in Pakistan, it has not imposed a blanket travel ban.

However, some restrictions may be introduced.Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed, confirmed ongoing consultations with the US State Department but stated that no official decision has been shared with Islamabad.

Reports indicate Pakistan may be placed in an “orange category,” restricting certain visa types, such as tourist and immigrant visas, while potentially allowing business travel for wealthier individuals. Amid the evolving situation, Pakistani students in the US have been advised to remain there until further clarity on re-entry rules emerges.
