How will the new age limit effect on government employees

The Sindh government has reduced the age limit for government jobs from 43 years to 33 years, effective from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. Previously, job applicants had a 15-year relaxation, but under the new rules, only a 5-year relaxation will be granted, setting the maximum age at 33 years instead of 43 years.

This change applies to all government jobs except the CEC exam and excludes positions in Sindh Police and the Public Service Commission.

The decision follows a lifting of the ban on government hiring and was approved by the Sindh Chief Secretary and Cabinet. While the move aligns with previous amendments to recruitment policies, it significantly reduces opportunities for older candidates seeking employment in the public sector.
