Couple divorce rate increases in Rawalpindi.

Rawalpindi’s family courts saw an unprecedented 1,451 new cases filed in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting growing tensions over alimony, custody, dowry, and marital breakdowns.

Notably, 21 Christian women filed for divorce under newly reformed laws, while 41 men sought court intervention for the return of estranged wives.

Despite the rising numbers, courts facilitated 55 reconciliations. Legal experts cite social media, impulsive marriages, and misinformation as major contributors, urging stricter laws and stronger family oversight to preserve household stability.
